About Lilikat903

Hi, my name is Katherine and I live in south Fla., where the unemployment rate is the highest it's ever been since the great depression. (12.5 % as of Friday) I live with my parents because a) it's waaayy too expensive to live on your own down here, & I have ex-roommate stories so wild my freinds told me I should write a book , & 2) they need my help because they are elderly, my Dad has Alzheimer's & they are on fixed incomes...well they need my help, but I lost my job (security guard) 1 1/2 yrs ago & have not been able to find decent work since. The only work available is usually 20 or more miles away, & my car no longer runs properly & I have no $ to fix it. My unemployment ran out this month & I am waiting to see if congress will be kind enough to extend it.

I even applied for food stamps, and they graciously allowed me a whole $16 a month!!

When I say 'decent' work, I mean ANYthing I can do...cashier, Blockbuster, movie theatre, etc. I can't do Micky D's or related unless it's strictly cashier because of knee problems. (Can't stand as long as they need.)

I am a U.S. Navy veteran. My job was Aviation Machinist's mate, which means I was trained to launch/recover aircraft like the guys with the orange lights you see directing planes at airports, and to do general maintenance, but we all know how well the airlines are doing. In fact, with the volcano in Iceland going nuts, some of them may go bankrupt.

Anyhow...even tho I hate begging, I think God may have a lesson in how to be humble in mind, because I find myself in the position of desperately needing $500- by the 27th of this month (April) to pay some bills.

I have talked to the Veteran's hospital social worker (my father is also a vet, WWII pilot with both the RAF & U.S. Navy), but they can only do up to $250-, and probably not in time {it IS the government, after all...slooooooow}, so I have come to this site hoping to find some helpful soul(s) who are willing to trust that I am sincere in word & need, & are able to help us.

I have worked with the Make-A-Wish foundation before, but being a bit old for that venue, have decided to "wish upon a star". And if you also happen to know of someplace I might find a job in the North Palm Beach County area, I would be THRILLED to have work again!! I have a great range of talents and am quite adaptable, freindly and intelligent.

Thank you for your attention and God Bless

About Nessun

Hi everyone,

I left my full time job 4 years ago to take care of my mom who has Alzheimer's. I am her sole caregiver. We have been living on her social security and pension just fine but the amount my mom gets just takes care of the bills in the house plus allows me to buy enough gas to take her to the senior citizens building twice a week to get in some walking for exercise and occasionally mom gets her favorite meal from MacDonald's, a double hamburger, fries and a coke. The only thing I spend money on is cable (no premium channels) as this is the only recreation I have. I'm in the house with mom. There are no friends coming around because I moved away from my home to take care of her. I haven't had my hair done since I moved in with my mom (she hasn't either). Just painting a picture that extra money is not being spent on frivolous items.

I'm very good with mom's money and have always managed to save enough out of her pension and social security to pay taxes on the house. However, this year I was not able to save the money because my mom went into the hospital last year for a couple of months and when she came out she had 9 new prescriptions that she needed to take. She was only on three medications before. We were paying $58 a month on her medicine before she went into the hospital and now we are spending $310 a month. This has eaten into the money I would have saved for taxes. She owes $2500 in property tax for fiscal year 2007.

For fiscal year 2008 mom is eligible for a 50 percent reduction in her property tax because of a program the city has started to help seniors stay in their homes. So I will be able to save the money to pay next year's tax. I will get rid of cable and take mom to the senior citizens place once a week. I went to PharmAssist to see if she could get help with her medicines but they would not help her because she already gets help for out of pocket expenses through her health insurance. I have to admit she does have good health insurance and I'm not going to lie here and say her out of pocket for when she was in the hospital was outrageous. We paid her medical deductible for the year and with that and the new precriptions we just ended up short this year for the $2500 property tax.

I have been trying to raise the money for the tax. I have one sister and one brother and they have been trying to save money but in the end they could not help me. I don't work so I can't take out a loan and I have been trying to get a loan on my mother's behalf. One mortgage lender responded (I went through Lending Tree) and would only loan mom a minimum of $15,000 and my mom had to do a second mortgage with points, a higher interest rate than she has on her first mortgage and that kind of loan along with the first mortgage would wipe us out, so I was not crazy enough to do that.

If anyone has a creative idea or solution or can just plain help, please let me know. The city has sent my mother's case to an attorney for foreclosure to sell my mom's home for this $2500. My mom's house down the drain for $2500. And where do I go with a mother with Alzheimer's? I don't want to put her in a nursing home at this time because she is still aware of herself and others (she is always asking for my sister and brother who NEVER come to see her, and her grandchildren). It would kill me. And I have no idea where I would go because I have not worked in over 4 years and my last jobs was 600 miles away from where I moved with my mom. I know nothing about this city because all of my time has been spent with my mom, so I do not have any friends here and I don't know where to go for help.

Thanks for listening.

I need help to reorganize my financial status.

Hi,

My name is Kristi and I need to make a fresh financial start.  Last year my Grandmother lived with my husband and me for the last eight months of her life.  She had Alzheimer's and we were her care givers.  During this time, I lost touch with things and let some really important things slip my mind.  We own a small business in the town that we live in and when she moved in with us I started working from home.  I made some errors financially that has now left us in a real bind that I can not seem to get us out of.  My husband and I work hard and I am trying desperately to reorganize so we can begin our life again without the huge strain of financial distress that I have caused my family by letting myself get out of touch with reality while my Grandmother was with us.  Any help would be appreciated and once I get back on my feet, I vow to continue visiting this site helping others in my position.  I am in need of $8700.00 to catch up and get my head above the water so I can get back on track.  If financial help is not available then pray will be much appreciated.

Thank you for the time you took to read this.  God says that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.  I feel that he lead me to this site.  God Bless you all.

I am 36 years old and have found myself in quite a mess.  My husband and I own and operate a small business in the town that we live in.  We have done well, but due to some errors that I have made while being away from the office caring for my Grandmother with Alzheimer's  we are in need of help to get our finances reorganized.

We are believers in God and know that he will get us through this time in our life.  I feel he lead me to this site for help and where I one day can help someone in the same situation I am in now.  If you are unable to help financially a prayer would be much appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and may God Bless you and your family.

I need financial help with everything

April 24, 2007

Hello, I don't know how this works but I am desperate.  My brother had a stroke in 1999 and my mother was 89-years old on March 14, 2007.  She is also suffering from Alzheimer's.  I work for a doctor but I live from paycheck to paycheck. I have had to borrow from those payday loan places and got behind.  We received three rental notices from our landlord for back monies and when I called her on it, she got angry and sent us a 5 day notice for another amount all together.  I am behind in my car payment, my utilities, my rent, and several other bills.  I don't know what to do.  I need some emergency help.  We cannot afford to move and we have no where to go.  I do not want to see my brother and my mother outdoors.  Please, can someone help us.
